It was announced this week that Levon Helm is in the final stages of his fight with cancer. He is a GREAT musician and a part of one of the best bands of all time. An inspiration to many. He will be missed.
Alas spring is here which means festivals are coming. First up is Coachella. There are some great bands playing this weekend. The great thing is if you don’t go this weekend you can always go next weekend. That’s right. same bands, same lineup two weeks in a row. Hopefully different sets.
Anyway for those of you that are staying home this weekend worry not you can stream it all live Coachella 2012.
Be sure to check out: Band of Skulls, The Black Angels, The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr., Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, and if you are up for it Dre and Snoop are even doing a set.
Radio Moscow’s sound has continually morphed. From their self titled first albums’ blusey garage rock to last years release of The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz’s full on psychedelia. 3&3 Quarters was recorded before all of this. Before touring, recognition, television, movies, fights, bandmates, Dan Auerbach, any of it. This should be an interesting glimpse into where Parker Griggs comes from.

About To Crash from the album 3&3 Quarters-Radio Moscow.
This blog has been formed because I and many like me feel there is an under served undercurrent of music that is gaining momentum. It is a very pure version of music. One that has not been cheated by the addition like plugins and Autotune. A sound that has not been genetically modified and reprocessed to the point that it is more machine than man. It is music that has feeling, soul, emotion, passion, mistakes, character and more than anything individuality.
While the primary focus will be on Blues Rock don’t be surprised if you see some folk, soul, bluegrass, motown, alt country, and who knows what other types of traditional music show up from time to time.
If you ever have any feedback or recommendations feel free to send them in.
